30 Days in 60 Minutes: March 2020 (Part II)
Featuring I'm Glad It's You, Ben Seretan, Loathe and many other artists I would've bet the house on ca. March 10, 2020.
See Part I for the first half of the mix…I prefer listening to this in one two-hour block, but it works just as well as a Disc 1 / Disc 2 - see below for a full Spotify playlist.
Pinegrove - “Dotted Line”
Rolling Stone called this album “like the Promise Ring gone country” (complimentary) and man…if only it sounded more like “Become One Everything One Time!” Or more like this song.
Real Estate - “November”
A lot of artists from Real Estate’s peak era (including their former guitarist) were the ones loudly celebrating Pitchfork’s demise, having blamed them and them alone for the increasing marginalization of agenda-free indie rock bands like themselves. So credit where credit’s due - these guys seem really level-headed about their status, which is right where it should be for a band who almost exclusively writes about finding peace with the passage of time.
Ratboys - “My Hands Grow”
Let me thank Ratboys for their music.
